I TOOK SEVERAL SHOTS OF THIS MARBLE ON A WHITE BACKGROUND BEFOR I NOTICED THE RED,WHITE AND BLUE PATTERN IN IT.
THEN I ADDED THE SIX INCH FLAG.

the us flag always makes a good subject, but it is way too predictable

If the marble was the other way round it would be the french flag. That would be ironic :) The photo seems too soft to me and the whites are actually more of a yellow, suggesting you used the wrong white balance.
