The background should be solid in my opinion. Nice light on the cat's face. She looks like she's ready to jump. What an expression on her face. I would have cropped the light background out, personally.
Very intriguing photograph. I like the way you've captured the white of the cat's paws, the white chest, the white hair in the ear, through your lighting technique. The shadow on the cloth is interesting. Very sharp photo and you make it stand out by focusing the subject on the left.
