Image of painted street markings as a potential subject for discussion with those who are convinced only painting can be art. My thought is that art often involves seeing the world in a different way and making something that communicates that vision. Sometimes making art involves taking artistic, conceptual, or political risks. But the nature of the risks can vary.
During a visit to Montreal, these rather ordinary and easy-to-fade-into-the-background street markings caught my eye and seemed interesting enough to justify stepping into the roadway to make an image. Oncoming traffic was a block or more away, getting closer by the second. Made the image, then hopped back to the sidewalk soon enough not to be an obstruction (or a casualty).
