A very appealing image that contributes well to the challenge
A lovely well controlled exposure that goes to the limit of both boundaries yet still retains detail, well done Janine. As for the mono conversion well, its equally well controlled and hugely appealing with a full range of tones. Great composition, everything contributes well to the end result. Good timing with lovely motion blur of the mans hand as he raises the food to his mouth. I love the tiled walls and the simple yet poignant statement of the graffiti without which the image would be poorer yet still easily recognisable as continental. A lovely job.
Might be a typo in the title but my French isn't very good so maybe I'm missing something. I like the photo and the "Respectez nos voisins" is a compelling social law that we seem to have forgotten.
