Camping overnight at Jugiong on our way back to Sydney I remembered that on previous stops here the valley can be filled with an early morning fog while the surrounding hills can be bathed in sunshine above. So armed with a new drone since my last visit I decided to get up before sunrise and see what I could capture above the fog bank.
It was 2° C and I hadn't flown her since upgrading to new firmware. As I quickly found out as she rose through the fog, the new firmware was buggy and the image and controls kept disappearing. It just reached 100m when it broke through so I started snapping and got off about 4 shots before it went in to 'Return-to-Home' mode by itself and came back down.
As I was shooting for the 'above' challenge I was really peed off not being able to get the shot I was after and was so cranky about the buggy firmware that I forgot about the few shots I had on the card until a few days later when I had finally ironed out the bugs and was doing some test shots.
Not thinking they were that great but realised this one sort of answered the challenge so I submitted it never thinking for 1 minute it was a top ten contender. Thanks everyone for votes and comments.
