So I have never tried street photography but I love trying abstract photos. So I went out three times trying for a shot. First night out, zero people. Second night out, zero people. Last chance, a few people so I shot away.
I thought my Lensbaby Velvet 56 was probably my best chance at getting something abstract so that is all I took out. I shot into windows, I shot down streets, and I shot down alley ways. I finally had something I like when I happened to bend down in front of a planter and aimed my camera down the alley. Oh boy some abstactness. But I really wanted a person in the shot. So I walk into the alley and sat down on the other side of a different planter and pointed my camera toward the street. As luck would have it three people walked by in the span of a few minutes and I clicked the shutter and managed to get them in the shot despite no time for planning or focusing carefully. I stayed another 10 minutes and only one other person walked by. Then back at my computer only one person remotely looked like a person. And I added a texture to give the picture a bit more life. I tried asking my husband if he could see a person in my final product and he really could not. So I suspect this is kind of a fail - two big spots in the image look too much like eyes and I don't think many will be able to see the guy walking. But I tried. And I entered. And in the thumbnail version I think it's not too bad to pull out the guy walking. (So I was hoping maybe the title would help people see into the image.) Thanks for looking!
