Location: Desktop in my PC room.

 I assume this is legal since the only editing involved cropping and file reduction. Olympus C-5050Z, Super Macro, autofocus, no flash, lit by 1 GE helical 15w lamp. Snapped a lapel pin out of focus, printed it for background. Pinned lapel pin to the background. Snapped it in focus.

you did a really good job focusing, but the subject doesn't do much for me. I don't mean because it's the USA flag, but this particular flag looks like such a cheap, plastic thing (no offense!). Also, the composition isn't real exciting. But I kind of do like that you shot it on a bigger version(?) or printout of the same image.

everything with the USA flag is off. so I drop my vote down to (5) instead og (6)

Very centered position of shot gives composition a static feel.

The focus seems a bit soft, try applying USM in post processing.

Pretty crispy image, although slightly faded. I'd have tried to increase the contrast a little to make the red of the flag stick out more. Good lighting and replication of the foreground as the background. Shot could do with being a little bigger if possible.
