This was a challenge that I thought about for a little bit before putting any energy into shooting or trying to find a place to shoot.
Lots of hiking trail choices in Colorado, but I didn't have the time to go that route. So on Sunday afternoon, I finally decided to just go for a short drive and ended up parking in a small parking area where hikers and bikers park near North Table Mesa in Golden. I left the camera bag behind and took only my M Monochrome and my widest Leica lens and started walking down a path I had not walked before. Saw nothing really interesting for the first few hundred feet, and then I walked across a short bridge and saw something I had no idea was there. A BMX bike area. The City of Golden built it a year or two ago. Pretty small track, but big enough to get up some speed for some jumps. I'm not a BMX rider, but I was lucky enough to have just one biker there taking some jumps so I asked if he minded if I take a couple pics of him, he said no problem. So this is one of two pics that were almost identical. I just pre-focused the lens where I knew he would be at some point in the jump and when he reached that point, I released the shutter. Works perfectly.

Excellent shot, Dennis. Great tones. The terrain brought back memories of the area. I spent three semesters at CSM before deciding rocks just weren't for me.
