Nice title. I like everything. I'm not sure if I like the use of a flash. It might've worked better with the whole bowl. But a very appealing on topic picture.
I believe you used a direct flash for this photo, which accounts for the harsh light and the strong reflection on the apple. The photo would look much less of a snapshot with better, softer lighting.
