Used wax to prop up a series of quarters On a white backround to give the appearence of a strobe light sequence of flipping a coin. Had to set it up and take it at the office during my lunch hour!

congrats on the red!
I'm glad I was wrong about the shadow blowing the shot! (i still would have cloned out the shadows, but, hey, that's me)
good concept none the less, and a great way to make them stick (wax)
keep it up!

I am trying as I type this to pull off you picture for real with my d70 and SB-800 flash that can do rapid fire. Great inspiration for me. Thanks for the great Idea.
Thanks everyone for your comments and voting on my picture. Winning this ribbon is a wonderful surprise. Just goes to show that even a blind squirrel will find a nut on occasion!
The photo is great -- so I won't lower your score for the title ;-) It took me a white to figure out how you did this, but I think I finally did. I wish I could think this creatively! BOL
I like this. The idea is not unique in the challenge, and some have even used the same approach. Yours stands out from the rest because the use of your hand is more natural, and the lighting works well in this composition.
Very nice. The border is kind of awkward though. I won't deduct for that. My favorite of this challenge so far. The black and white, composition are both great ideas.
Clever! Looks like you shot this with all the coins standing on a sheet of paper (the shadows and traces of adhesive give it away). I think it might be a little more natural to flip the image so you'd have a right-handed person and a time progression from left to right. 8
Can't wait to see how this was done - it is difficult - I know, I have a similar but much less effective submission. - yours is the best!
I think I've worked it out - now I'm not so impressed but it is still a gerat photo
very nice. it's too bad you can see the shadownear your thumb/finger and the coins at the left. It really blows the effect.
next time you try a photo like this, where the background is very close to your subject, you might want to use a white reflector just off camera (in this case lower half) to fill in those shadows some.
good idea I'm sure you will do well!
Image critique: not bad, well composed, but you've given the game away with the shadow. Why!!!? This is advanced editing and you could have removed this which would have made your shot 10 times better. As it is, I'd have to say it's too harsh and washed out.
I don't care for the title, but that is not important. I love the photo - its such a clever idea. If only you could have managed without the "give-away" shadows. The b&w works well in this case.
