I know that the unusual crop may not be to everyone's taste but it worked the best on this moody shot (IMHO)
Taken of one of the last leaves to still cling to life - cropped, applied neatimage, burned a few veins, border, save for web.

An interesting concept and a good image technically, but your score will likely suffer from portraying an inanimate object as decisive. There's really no mind to make up.
