In the pacific northwest loggers often have a little fun at the end of the harvest. Frequently you will see a topped tree with a sizeable rock atop standing like some lonely sentinel guarding the forest as it begins its regrowth.
Many moods can be evoked when seeing one of these tributes. Personally I feel a sense of loneliness when ever I stumble across these man-made monuments to the moment they finished the job.
