This is the first warm day we had after almost 2 weeks of temperatures below freezing. We hit the 60's. It snowed the next day. That's Missouri weather for you.

O.K. Nature Biology 101 - these are Canadian Geese, all of them, not a duck in sight. (I'm having fun at your expense, please laugh along) Very good shot. Love the geese struggling to walk across the ice. There are a lot of them!!! Small suggestion: crop the top 1/10 or so, basically at the water line and a higher angle would have netted you some great reflections on the lake surface. 8 Swash
(I was tempted to minus 1 more point for the duck/geese thing, but I'm feeling generous!!!)
Composition: Spot on apart from the very left-hand duck looking a bit too far out.
Technical: I really like the contrast in the pic. The gradient of colour looks excellent.
Overall impression:Quite a painting-like quality. 9
Thanks. My first digital camera and my first time using it. The outcome wasn't too bad. I'm learning and having fun at the same time, there's nothing better.

Thanks. I was banging my head the moment after I submitted it. Oh well, the comments were fun, especially yours.

Technically speaking are these ducks or geese? They sure are mighty...they walk on water. This is a really neat photo. I love the focus. So clear so far. Great shot. Beautiful. Well done.
