Married.... I feel like ET here in Taiwan, behind bars, Imaginative bars, only see the city lights in the evening for a whole week and sometimes evade to see more nature
Strikes me as part Wizard of OZ, part ET, and part Sleepless in Seattle, all wrapped up in an I am Legend feel. I am pretty sure you weren't going for all that, but that's my perception.
