Actually, this is not the mother cat, it's a male tabby we call Fritz who comes into our patio to sleep. The kitten just happened to crawl on top of him and fell asleep.

To me it is a bit too soft and you haven't quite nailed the edge of the fur against the black background. As it is now the mama cat looks a bit like she is floating. Good effort though! I know how hard it is to get hair and fur right and you have done a much better job than i could have.
