It's hard to express how happy I am that this did so well. For me, this shot represented a departure, a corner turned, pointed towards what's next, whatever that "next" may be. This was one of the reasons I chose to use a line from the last verse of Neil Young's 'After the gold rush' as the title. This has been a very difficult year, and I hope this will signify that a corner has been turned.
I'm sure some will be thankful but this is probably the last shot I use from here...at least for a long while, anyway. I've used it so much and only wanted to submit another shot only if it was very special...and this, to me, was very special.
Thank you everyone that took the time to vote and comment. I appreciate all of it very much.

Mark, this is beyond beautiful. It's downright inspirational. Congratulations on the blue and, even more noteworthy, having this one be one of your all-time top five images. Very special.
Congrats on again a well deserved Blue. And sorry to hear we won't see this place for a while, I really enjoyed looking at those stunning images. Hope you can find another beautiful place. Wish you all the best!
I love it when an artist expresses a clear relationship with their image, especially more when it is personally significant, and even more when they are modest and humble about it. Bravo Mark, I wish you he best.
Congratulations Mark,
If this one wouldn't win I would have eaten my keyboard (I don't have a hat)
I personally feel this the best picture from 2015 on dpc
