So I really adore the snowy egrets. They're so much fun to watch. The run about, they have big yellow clown feet, and when they get irritated at other birds, they stick the feathers up on top of their head and look even more silly.
My wonderful husband drove me the 3.5 hours to get to my snowy egret place: Chincoteague. It's probably good that we don't live closer, or he'd probably never see me. Oh wait, maybe he'll want to move closer after all!
Does this define me as a photographer? I don't know about that. I'm not sure what does define me as a photographer. But it's by far my favorite subject. Perhaps, above all, it defines me as patient. Because it takes a lot of time to wait for the shot with these guys. It's not the shot I would have liked. They were a bit too far out and I'm not used to the summertime. Way too much foliage around to get many good shots. But it was still a wonderful time, and we went swimming in the ocean. Luckily, we didn't get bitten by any sharks, because I didn't have my camera with at that point, and I would have missed an action shot.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments! What an enjoyable challenge!
