Needs more contrast, more focus on one particular element in the photo - lots of potential there - what with the church in the background...maybe a shot from the road ....more detail would work well in this.

Maybe the photo size requirements got you with this one. The setting is too beautiful and run-down-ness of the house is barely visible from the distance you took the shot. although beautiful - Not quite a strong enough representation of the challenge.
