So I tried both my d300 (35mm 1.8) and the iPhone as the cats were settling in to their chair. Once again, the iPhone was a better option - partly because it is QUIET - and partly because it is so versatile due to size. The image quality isn't the best but the overall compositions I preferred from the phone.
I suppose it was also the fact that I caught this stretch when I happened to have the iPhone in hand as well.
Editing was crop/dodge burn mostly. Also tried a bit of the Orton effect but it probably isn't too noticeable.

Just have to chuckle at all those toe stretches. Really adorable babies. That array of legs makes for interesting elements in the composition. Good luck with this.
