What I like about this image is that not only it is balanced in comoposition, the colors also complement each other and are present in appropriate proportion. May be reducing the yellow slightly would have helped!!
This was a great photo and well deserved win. Was a tripod and/or self-timer used? If not, I think this photo would be much better if you had. It may have led to a sharper look within the windows. I'm not trying to be too nit-picky but it looks like there might have been some very slight movement when the shutter was released. It could also be that some of the windows are more blurry than others because of the narrower depth of field. Maybe a longer exposure with a larger f-stop could have helped with focus. Again, I think this is a great photo. Nice colors, composition, lighting and great subject too! It deserved the win, Congratulations!
Thanks everyone. And thanks GoodTempo for going out shooting with me that day. If you all didn't notice there are two views of this same window treatment and there were two of the same door handles in squares.
This was a lucky find and to get a ribbon with it is just fantastic!
challenge met. i think you have a winner here, although you might have some competition from the other photo of the same or similar subject. i like that you cropped part out of the overall spiral and turned this into a picture of curves. i like the (mostly) blue shades of the stainglass windows and the reflections on the wall in some of the places. the warm tones of the wall are great, too. the only thing i would've considered changing is that i might have cropped the bottom a little more, i think that would balance the photo even better, there's really nothing of interest down there. great photo! :)
Very, very nice. Lovely enhancement of stained glass as well as excellent composition in cropping. You even get high marks for your tasteful border. 10 JEM
way cool.. the subject is great... maybe a higher fstop and slower shutter would give a deeper field of focus and clearthe details up a little.. plus the slower shutter might darken the room up a little which might get rid of some shadows and maybe show some more of those colors
I like the shot and the cropping here but my eye is very drawn to the light spilling in from that one window in the bottom row...I would have cloned that out with photo shop. Nice use of light and shadow overall and very beautiful colors.
