The fan of green is very eye-catching. The black areas, in my opinion, overpower the effect of the "fan." Their form is not complimentary to the lovely arches in the "fan" area. The little Tinker Bell of green in the lower left is discordant with both the "fan" as well as the black forms. I think your eye is very good to identify the "fan," and, personally, would have enjoyed a more isolated exploration of that form and line.
