Seems like Unique's philosophy revolves around find the interesting in the odd or mundane. Maybe I'm totally off base.
But I followed that thinking, and entered this. I find it mundane, and interesting. The only real editing was a bit of Nik Analog Efex Pro 2, to give it a coffee tone and a little tiny fade.

Post challenge: Hehe, that was fun getting everyone confused as to what is going on here.
This is a work of art. I believe the artist pulled apart a small motorcycle, and used the parts to build a bird riding a motor cycle. I walk past it nearly every day, but never stopped to take a photo. Until this day, when I actually had my 5DIII with me, and a lens with a very wide aperture to get the fun depth of field.
If I get a chance, I will take a photo of the whole work of art and post it.

I find the mechanics interesting here. There appear to be some roller bearings hanging out in midair, not doing anything. Maybe the inside races are doing the work. I am curious what this is.
I expect this to do well on popular appeal, as it is visually engaging. I'm not sure that a message would be conveyed without that title to provide the connection. I'll be curious to see how this does and the other comments it brings in.
I love man made stuff. And this composition is wonderful. It must have once been pristine, but now it is grimy. Incredibly intricate, but also primitive. The hue of the bokeh is great, and even the vignette is good (although I am not often a fan of that). The blurred components in the rear make me wonder what their details are, while leading my attention to the front gear. All good.
A capable macro shot, no doubt about that. I really enjoy the overlapping circles of confusion top right but mainly pictures of objects don't pus my buttons.
Love that it's not all in focus. I've tried to figure out what it is; it must be an assemblage of parts as it makes no mechanical sense as presented. Some kind of precision mount? It looks a bit like my knee joints feel first thing in the morning. I enjoyed trying to put it together (pardon the pun). Thank you.
