Shot this last summer in between foster kids. We were out geocaching and had always wanted to stop by this place. Its on the corner of an intersection basically in the field of a home. The place just looks cool standing out all by itself . The ice wasn't so good though. Too sweet and generic flavored. Kids loved it.
Shot with my iPhone 4s and probably a fisheye attachment. It's been so long since I have shot for fun with the 30d. This won't do well, but then that's not why I shoot anymore. I shot this to remember the beautiful day my family had together.

This is a wonderful, cultural, piece of art. So much information, telling a wonderful story or summer in the country. Mother checks out the options, as the boys lose patience and just want some sweet relief from the heat. In the backgroud, the recliner where the shop attendant, one assumes it's "Bubba", goes to relax between the questions and requests for service from the customers. Wonderful detail and composition.
two thumbs = top four & hang on my wall anytime.
This is a very modern photograph, something like Martin Parr's work I think. The uncompromising presentation, unsoftened by the smallest sentiment, not eased by any kind of photographic convention or artifice, not animated by a defining or engaging view of any of the people, is all so perfect for this improbable subject. Bubba's small castle looks as out of place here, in what seems like a farmer's field, as it would on the surface of the moon. Bubba himself is represented only by a possible part-silhouette in the window and an empty lawn chair in the sun. A wonderful tribute to the tastelessness of popular taste in 100 fabulous flavors. It's deliciously awful and I love it. It's also excellent documentary photography, in a definitely-not-Dorothea-Lange kind of way. Thank you.
