Challenge: Oil II (Advanced Editing VII)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Fujifilm X-M1
Date: Jan 25, 2015
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 1250
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Jan 26, 2015

I took pictures of oil drops for the inanimate macro challenge last November, which didn’t turn out quite as sharp as I hoped.
So I was really pleased when this challenge came up and gave me another chance to try!
I experimented with dyed water, milk, dish detergent and vegetable oil , daylight, led light and a torch covered with transparent red paper.
Since I have two new macro extender (10x and 16x) for my Fuji X-M1 camera I used these instead of my DSLR with macro lens.
Well, you can see the result – hope you voters like it!

They remind me of planets and moons.

This photo has a very soft feel to it, which I like. I am new to DPC, this being the second challenge I have entered. I do not know how you achieved this, which is the main reason why I like it so much.

Interesting shot. I might like it even more if the foreground was in focus. It does have some beautiful color to it.

The depth of field used here helps this stand out a bit.
