So Ohno was my great grandmother. I guess when my brother was little, she would run after him saying "oh no! Oh no!", and so she became Ohno.
I don't remember the pickle caster at her house, but I remember my mom having it for a long time. The cranberry glass and the shape always fascinated me.
Most of the time, pickle casters would have tongs attached to the side.
I tried shooting just the caster, but it didn't look right. The drapes are actually the drapes from my mother's front room. I draped them over my light box. You can tell I forgot to go back and straighten the lightbox after doing do!
It was boring as just a pickle caster shot, so everything seems to be improved by a cat.
Moriarty is always around when he's not particularly wanted. Do you think he'll cooperated when he is wanted??!? No! This was definitely fine for my needs, but it took a significant amount of time just to get to this point. Especially when it made me nervous having a cat next to a special antique on a small table.
Plus, I liked that it gave more of an idea of the size of the caster, than if it was just by itself. It really couldn't hold large pickles...
