With a good sky like this, I think shooting just the tallest trees against the sky might have worked better. As it is, the foreground doesn't offer much to the photo as a whole.
I just can't see Ansel Adams in this shot :-(
The image is too grainy and kills the details in the shadows. There is not enough elements with tonal variation. It's just dark trees and cloudy sky.
