fwiw, with a scene like this, I find sharpness distracting, reeds are very busy. And the heron is in focus, but behind reeds and the photo is uncropped.. he is distant. If i had sharpened him up more, he wouldnt have been well-camouflaged ;-)

I gave this an 8. I really wanted the bird to be the most in-focus part, or I would have given it a 10 for composition and challenge topic fit-in. :D
