Spot is nice for capture...nice lights and compozition... still could take more of archs then street bricks. Also feels like hand held...loosing bit on focus.
There are certain details in this shot that makes it overall quite appealling. the colour and lighting on the damp cobbles is particularly gratifying, and i love the shadow cast by the gate on the pavings. Having the grey-haired person works, too. Unfortunately though, it all seems a little messy as you look further back. This could do with a being a little sharper, either by using a tripod (or any flat stable surface - personally I’m always on the look out for rubbish bins and other street furniture) or possibly a higher aperture (it seems quite shallow because the cobbles do appear to be in focus). this has a load of potential but let down by a few factors put of your control - for example, it's a pity that the detail of the ironwork at the top of the arch has been lost... did you try adjusting this to a sepia tone? the lights and darks might lend itself to a successful adjustment. overall good - 5.
