 The light on the foreground came from light painting with my iPhone flashlight. Since it takes so long per exposure I was out there for almost an hour trying various compositions and this was my favorite.
Was hoping for a 6+ on it, but hey, at least it didn't finish last.

I found this fascinating, and I love the colors and composition (I was one of your 7's). Many of us try to capture a shot that pleases the masses. Sometimes we have to be happy the image connects with a few. Hey, you caught ubique's eye -- in my book I'd call that a success. It's a cool shot -- nice job.

Just my 2 cents...
I think it didn't get too much points because the sky was the main subject, maybe another angle showing more water (and still some sky) would have workked better. Even the platform could be removed for strength and simplicity.
I don't think cropping would help because people wouldn't understand the nice lighting in the water.

Has an alien quality. An outpost in another world. A docking station for other-worldy travellers. Certainly more than a boat launch ramp. Into my 7+ selections. Thank you.
