They were laid out on an empty picture frame on a sheet of white paper. It was lit with a SB-800 (TTL) bounced off the kitchen wall and with a fill flash (M 1/128) below.

The DOF seems a bit to shallow, I would've preferred to see more loops in color. a bit of a contrast bump could help it to. I do like the dynamic of this and how colorful it is, though. Simple but effective.
