Taking a distorted photo is easy.
Taking a distorted photo that is still recognizable and interesting...not so easy. Not much fun either until I found something worthwhile to shoot through.
I found a pyrex measuring cup in my office, and noticed that near the handle, the glass warps a bit. Shooting through this warping glass gives an interesting effect, especially on a cool staircase.
I must say, while this is cool looking, I'm not in love with it. Seems like it's ,missing some "pop" because of the thick glass cup.
Trying to edit to add spark:
* Tweaks in Aperture
* Run through Topaz DeNoise
** Make a copy and run through Nik Viveza 2
**Make another copy and run through Nik Silver Efex Pro 2
* Combine those copies with B&W on top
** Layer at about 60% opacity
** Mask out the one colorful area
