I wanted this to work on two levels. First the idea of a letter/paper/pen as a form of communication. Second, the idea of a 'dear john' letter, which has a whole sub meaning behind it. Not that happy with the actual photo though.

Good ideas are usually very simple. So I'm voting for the idea, the photo doesn't have much interest. Perhaps a human subject writing the "Dear John" would have added.
why the blue papper it is asteticaly not as clean an as if the paper had been white
also you have a very film grain like pixelation which i think hurts the over all image
