This is the George Peabody Library. It is a 19th century research library, and part of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I had never been there before, but had seen pictures, and my daughter had been, and told me of it's beauty. As soon as someone suggested this challenge, I knew it was the place I wanted to go. Luckily, it came up during a week that I was off of work, as the library is only open Tuesday-Thursday 9-5 and Friday 9-3. I was off work because my daughter (the one who told me how beautiful it is) was in town, visiting from her home in Minnesota.

The library has been refurbished I see since I was last there sometime in the 1990's for a faculty member's retirement dinner. The spiral staircase there is another magnificent feature. I hope you saw that too.

BAM! I really enjoy this photo. It's stunning. I like all the detail and depth of field and color. And, after researching this, I see it is close to where I'll be relocating soon. So' I'll definately have to check it out. Thanks for submitting this photo. Its awesome.
