I made a visit to the Renaissance Festival this afternoon. I must say that it was one of the best ventures I have made with my camera recently. The people here are amazing. I actually ran out of time before I got all the photos I would like to have done. I spent too much time talking to some of the musicians and artists who were present.
This man was part of a group of three drummers who were plaing for the festival crowd. I didn't photograph the others and I only made this single photo of him. I just thought the kid on the table with the drum was quite intriguing. The drummer was apparently 'babysitting' while he was performing :)

Post Processing:
I cropped this image slightly from the original composition. I made my normal level and curve adjustments. I removed a zit from the guy's lip also. I converted to grayscale, resized, and added a border.

Equisite tones and fascinating subects really push this up to the top of my ribbons list. Focus is right on and this image is very compelling. Love the backlighting too. Very well done. 10
Very good. To nitpick: I don't like the border on top of the crop across his forehead.
If you just left it cropped that way, it would be fine, but adding the border looks odd IMO. I think it drags the viewers eye up to that slice and thats not the best focal point of the picture.
pretty interesting looking guy. I would have preferred to see him looking into the camera. His expression also seems almost bored or distracted. The little boy however, is certainly entranced.
Really nice range of tones, I love the picture and the feeling in it. I used to go to drum circles all the time, I haven't been able to find one near where I live now, and I miss them. the child watching the drum really draws you into the feel of the shot. 9 from me
