I got a better look at it, but this is the only picture that came out. Pretty confident in the ID, but not 100%. The under tail was my main thought, with the lesser goldfinch having a yellow under tail. This was in West LA, and as its warmer there earlier I think most of the birds have changed already, so I assumed this was a female. I "think" it was a tad smaller than the American Goldfinches that I see all the time, but distance can make sizing difficult, and it was solitary. |
