...of course I had Escher in mind after taking multiple shots in the bathroom of a phenomenal gastro-pub/burger joint in nearby West Hartford CT. It is black subway tile with white grout. But it really became more. So many times we analyze to death why we like a shot- what makes it good, what makes it beautiful. It is easier for me to like a photograph that I have taken, even if it isn't so great, because it is an external art, a luck of the draw procedure at times. Sometimes there is a small window of opportunity to shoot- more so in street shots than the bathroom tile genre, but, sometimes you have to shoot with your cell phone before someone else comes and stands next to you- or is waiting for the urinal you are at, and would think it odd that you are shooting cell phone pics in the bathroom, nowhere near the respectable selfie mirror. Cropping and processing really wasn't easy.
My thought after looking at this again is that the thumbnail is much better. I think its a nice try at showing something so totally non-photographic. There is world and a context behind every shot, if you just look.
Thanks for comments, especially HarveyG for taking a longer look.
