I'm surprised that this one is doing so well... I love these birds (not sure what kind they are. Sanderlings?

Whatever they are, I adore them. This was taken in Florida when my son and I were camping with ja-9 and family. She brought us to wonderful places! This beach was particularly fascinating -- there were live sand dollars (I'd only seen dead parts before), anemone



sea biscuit



(never seen one of those!), some gelatinous thing eating a crab



a couple of snowy egrets hanging out right near people!!



starfish, and lots of wonderful little plover, sanderling type thingymabobs.

Oh, and a live conch!

Congrats on the ribbon, lovely photo....and yes, a bird...definitely a bird :)

It looks like some kind of sandpiper actually but I'm basing that on the ones I see in Ontario.
