Actually a cool self-contained weather station (possibly developed with technology from our own Martian explorations)...I think I'd have moved a little to the right so its arm didn't cross any of the light-poles.
Composition is good for the suggested target. In some ways the giveway sign is distracting - since it's a more traditional sign it fights for attention. I think this would have been more effective with no other signs in the shot - although I realise that probably wasn't possible without losing the road (unless you hid the giveway sign behind the solar panel)
Nice humor (title), but isn't the "thing" some sort of weather station, not really a sign? (I see a sign further on, so you're O.K.) Good color, focus, framing. Unfortunate background in a way (except for the sign), it's busy with all the light poles and traffic. 6 Swash
