I forgot to put in photographer's notes last night!!

So, I have a stupid memory -- I just don't remember too many things. Sometimes I wonder if I've been on the same vacations as my husband, because he'll say "remember that?", and I just stare blankly...

So my early childhood memories are extremely limited. And the ones I came up with were starting in kindergarten. Like wearing a dress, climbing around in the coat room and having someone point out that I wasn't wearing underwear. Somehow, I wasn't going to do that memory.

I also remembered the wake up fairy -- where we all had mats in kindergarten, and after nap time, the teacher would pick a wake up fairy that would go around and wake up the other kids. This was kind of a pain in the neck, because it was a popularity contest, and if you weren't in the right group as the wake up fairy, you were one of the very last to be "awakened". Wasn't sure how to do that memory...

So I started thinking about home, and warm, cozy thoughts. I loved it when my mom made cookies. We could always have a pinch of dough. And, of course, there would be the extra pinches when my mom's back was turned to the stove or some other direction.

Yes -- this is a mannequin.

Meet Gabby!

A very kind, local photographer gave me a lighting lesson, and let me use Gabby for awhile with which to practice. I didn't want to be in the picture, and it would have been very difficult to set it the way I wanted, so Gabby was extremely helpful!

It's my son's hand. The cookie dough tradition has carried on throughout the generations. He thinks we need to have more challenges like this, and he thinks we should reshoot this one. :)

Thanks for the comments! Couldn't be more surprised with the blue -- obviously, I'm not the only one that filched pieces of dough as a kid. :)

Congrats on the blue, Wendy. Nicely done memory shot. I didn't pick that she was a mannequin.
Lol at your notes about no knickers - I have that memory too - being sent home, walking halfway, getting scared about the reception at home, walking halfway back to school, getting scared about the reception at school, etc. etc. I wouldn't have done that one either, but I do know that it's not my earliest memory.

well, it was a 10 in my book, and the apron on the 'mom' sealed the deal.
Good job, Wendy.

I particularly like the crop of the mannequin. And the idea. And the whole shot!
