This is something I enjoy, which is shooting slow shutter, while walking, and occasionally turning back toward the folks I'm shooting as I walk. This was taken in Santa Monica during a DPC get together.
Enlightened likes the pop of pink. I was thinking, "I'd probably desaturate that or change its hue to more blue tones. I'm much more drawn to the two central figures and even the one at the right edge and find the pink oddly static and distracting at the same time. Nice result from this exercise, though.
4th Street? Nice. I really like the pastel colors with the dark figures and the light streaks add a great graphic element. I'll have to try your technique.
