The title is from the poem Mont Blanc written by Percy Shelley. He wrote about the poem: "It was composed under the immediate impression of the deep and powerful feelings excited by the objects which it attempts to describe: and as an undisciplined overflowing of the soul, rests its claim to approbation on an attempt to imitate the untamable wildness and inaccessible solemnity from which those feelings sprang."
To me a landscape photograph does not have to be a part of an "essay" nor to tell a story. A single image of an outstanding natural scene can evoke the feelings and emotions of fear, powerlessness but also, of peaceful contemplation of immense beauty. Seeing Mont Blanc was an overwhelming experience for me, I will never forget it.

And I hope this photo evokes some of these feelings :)

Stirring, stunning and sublime. Tumultuous movement amidst the mountains and sky. So much is elicited from a limited palette. I'm full of admiration for this beautiful image. Needless to say, my favorite of the challenge.
