Cute idea! Color is brilliant,especially against the darak background, and the angle works real well.
Without the title, it wouldn't be funny. There isn't a whole lot to draw me in, since it mainly is lacking a creative artistic point. I hope this all makes sense.
The potential is good. Bury a person in sand, and post this above him, or perhaps over a tombstone. It could be some dark humour.
Maybe I'm missing the humor in this photograph. The humor is in the title, but the photo didn't make me laugh. Technically, it's very nicely done. Nice bright color, great focus and clarity. LIghting is very nice to produce the black background, which I like as well. Good luck in the challenge.
