 Kangaroos resting in the shade from the midday sun. Cropped, Applied auto levels and auto contrast,Adjusted Brightness and Contrast, Used Healing Tool to blend colours on the head of the right kangaroo and the leg of the left kangaroo. Adjusted Shadows/Highlights, Unsharp Masked to finish off.

I think the bright sun is making them a little soft looking. Not sure if you could tone down the brightness without losing detail.

i wonder if you could have gotten a more interesting shot if you had zoomed in on one of their faces for a real close up? as is, i see two roos laying on the ground at midday...not much more than a snapshot. if you aren't getting the scores you want, try different angles and approaches to the same shot. this might have come out better if you had gotten down on their level.
