Thanks a lot for the comments. After shooting this I was wondering about cropping the top, but remembered all the advice I've read about "filling the frame". Looks like I got a little too close. Although I didn't realize it until the editing. So much for paying attention to details.

The dance of a winner! I'd crop more off the right and and show the full shadow, but still- this is a ribbon. (9)

Good use of mother nature creations. Needs work on the lights and shadows.

This is one of my favorites of the competition... a good find for naturally wacky! Would have liked to see the top of the (gourd? squash?) at the top of the frame.

Thats real strange peace. :) Good lights just too cutted topside.

Nice studio shot. Nothing overwhelming here. I don't think the centered composition works for this shot, especially with the shadow falling to the left. I think more space on the left for the shadow would make a more balanced composition. I also think your exclusion of the top of the gord weakens the composition. - 7

Really clever idea. I'll look forward (after the challenge is over) to learning how you did it. Did you really find a gourd this shape? Wow!

I really like the lines in this photograph. Great color. Excellent use of lighting, I like the shadows. The only picky thing I can say about it is maybe not quite so tight of cropping at the top. Very well done!

This is a neat shot and a neat gourd...the top being cropped off bothers me a little. Great title, though!

Great subject. I think the composition could have been more interesting if it were less centered and harshly lit. The crop was a bit tight. Focus also appears a little soft. Love the title.

Interesting subjet. Would have prefer to see the top, and the whole thing a little to the right, so the shaddow won't be cropped... 7.

strange fruit, never seen anything like it. Technically fine, although I wonder why you have cropped across the top part.
