Papertowel background???? This could have been a great shot with the proper lighting & background. Also, black and white doesn't seem appropriate. In fact, without the title I wouldn't know that was an apple. Keep trying.

Beautiful lighting and composition. I think I might like a different surface than paper towels, but doesn't affect my scoring. This is excellent.

o.k. idea but let down by the execution in my opinion. The apple is so dark that detail gets lost, the paper surface is uninteresting and disturbing. What if you had taken half an apple, flat underneath, and put it in another surrounding ?
