With only a few hours left, this is on track for a personal best for me. It's been a great week. Thanks for the votes and comments.
Woohoo! I was not feeling at all well last evening so I went to bed at 7 pm and didn't get up until 7am - what a great start to the morning (and I feel tons better today, too).
As you might guess from the title, I took this shot at our zoo. There is a large outdoor area where the silverbacks can roam and quite a few windows of various shapes and sizes through which visitors can watch them. I took our almost two-year-old granddaughter to the zoo mid to late afternoon with the Light and Shadow description firmly in mind - had several ideas including a shot of the shadows cast by riders on the aerial tram and shooting down on birds in the aviary. We were on our way out through Gorilla Valley when I spotted this girl up in a window watching them. Her mom was standing kind of behind her and I kept waiting for her to step out of the way. Finally I went over, told her what I wanted, and asked her if she would get out of the way. She did and I got a couple of shots off. I had an outtake with a better facial expression and hand position, but the face was against some grass and the reflection of the girl wasn't as nice so I went with this one.
Many thanks for liking it and for giving me my first blue. Cool!
