I hadn’t planned to enter this challenge as I could not find and structures with the vibrant colours near where I live. I first thought that this was just an ‘In the Style of Angus McDonald’ and grabbed this shot:

That was inspired by this Angus McDonald shot”

However, it wasn’t until I was about to enter that I realised it was based on a particular collection and thought that I was not going to find anything. The day before rollover and on my way to bed I find one of my cats asleep on this blanket and the colours reminded me of his collection. Others might not see the connection but this was as closed as I was going to get and besides, I rather like the shot.

You've got the stripy colours, but Gus's theme was mostly about the quirkiness of painted buildings

I personally would have liked the image if it had just been the sheet/blanket/pillow case.

good colors, but your image has some focus issues and the white fur is kind of blown out. A 5 for effort from me

Hmm.

Ok, so the sheets are totally reminiscent of his work.. The cat is a highly distracting nuisance. (in real life too I'm sure...)

I like cat pics too much to really punish you, but this is pretty much a DNMC other than the sheets.

Certainly a different take on the challenge while maintaining lines and color.
