Very effective, the out of focus plant in the foreground not only gives a good indication of the barren environment but also suggests (to me, that is) how everything left behind soon blurs and vanishes in the memory, with the struggle of putting one step after the other.

This is one of my top two picks. I'm not typically fond of this golden cast processing, but it really works well here. Evokes the desolation of dust bowl times.
You need to open a gallery in town. The recurring theme throughout your images binds them all together and tells a story over the seasons. Only in Africa. Love it.
