I really enjoyed how this challenge had me looking at things differently. It was fun trying to come up with a composition and a subject that were interesting together, without going for the same old shots. In fact, I steered away from straight up/straight down, because those are a bit too easy to do. I wanted to find something that had angles and depth.
So I'm walking up this escalator that has been turned off, taking some very "meh" photos. Then it hit me. I just happened to look at the right place at the right time and see this! I composed the shot, and fired off bracketed exposures since the light was very contrasty.
Back home I combined the shots with Nik HDR Efex Pro, then did some minor tweaks to color and sharpness to get what I wanted. I really couldn't be happier with this photo.

Easy to see why you're pleased with the image - it's just what you were looking for and superb! The lines are excellent as is the detail throughout. Congratulations on the top ten, Mike.
Wonderfully crisp, mesmerising. Super silvers and a hint of yellow make this a standout image in the challenge. Perspective is different to everyone for sure but this is without a doubt DMC. High Marks.
