I feel that this scene is too complicated. There's the bird, the stones, the log and the greenery. Maybe it's the dof, which puts the top of the stones upwards out of focus. I think that this would have worked better with every element in full focus or taken from a higher angle to eliminate the conflicting top elements.
Pretty bird - stopped pretty well also. Except for the edges of the left wing which look kinda soft. Unfortunately, the overall image just lacks something for me. It seems so cluttered and unpretty compared to the bird - and as a result, it detracts from the image. Get lower, shoot up, and use the sky for a background. Just my thoughts. Good luck with the challenge.
